Compass Group
The Compass Group are volunteers who formed after an initiative from the Heritage Group some time ago. Initially the group set out to re-tackle the village appraisal book.
Amongst other projects listed below, the first suggestion was to create a web site for the village of Great Bowden. The web site is constantly evolving with suggestions and regular contributions from residents.
The group is open and welcoming of new members and new ideas. The group meet regularly at a members house and meeting dates will be displayed on the calendar.
Some other projects or groups initiated by members of the Compass Group which have moved on in their own right:-
- Friends of Great Bowden Cemetery
- Great Bowden Neighbourhood Watch
- Great Bowden Natural History Group with the Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust
- Litter Picks
- Action Group/Traffic Calming in the village to assist the Parish Council (project ongoing)
