Great Bowden Church of England Primary School was founded in 1839 through local voluntary support and with a grant from The National Society. In 1983 the school moved from the original building now known as the Church Hall, to its present location in Gunnsbrook Close.

Great Bowden Pre-school

Established since 1984, Great Bowden Pre-school is a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance.
Registered with Ofsted for 26 children aged from 2½ to school age.
The Pre-schools experienced and trusted core staff:
Diane Cancelliere, Tracy Baxter, Anne Steed and Ann Crabb are all qualified to NVQ level 3 and undertake regular additional training.
Jo Williamson & Claire Kilby are currently undergoing training to gain their NVQ level 2.
Tracy Baxter is also SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) trained.
Each child will be allocated to a key worker when they start in the group. The organisation is such that each staff member has approximately 15 children, whom they observe, tailor activities to their needs and report tp parents on their childs progress.

Session times:
Monday to Friday mornings - 9.00am until 12.00pm
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons - 12.15pm until 3.15pm
or double sessions on:-
Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays - 9.00am until 3.00pm (please bring their lunch with them)
Fees are currently £7.80 per session, until your child reaches the age when Government funding takes effect. The parent is notified when grant aid is eligible. Should the parent not wish to use their funding with this group, the sessions will be charged in accordance with the current Government funded rate (presently £10.47 per session).
The Pre-school is a registered charity and therefore committee run, (a list of committee members can be found on the notice board – Church Hall Entrance)
